"A watched mailbox never delivers a game"

Neither does Future Shop at this rate.

Sure I only ordered the damned thing four days ago, and I know the mail is slow, but they could have at least shipped it. OK, I'll give a little seeing as how it wasn't in stock at the time. They could have at least got some in. I mean really. A popular item that they sell out of. "Let's just drag our feet on this." There's an example of good business sense. It's notlike there's a complete shortage of the game making it impossible to find a copy anywhere.

In other news a few weeks back I had been asked to cover a shift Saturday night at my old job at the convenience store. I had nothing planned yet so I said sure. Of course a week later a buddy of mine decides that's the perfect night to have a party. No matter, I'd just work the shift and head over after. So I work the 6 to 11 uneventfully and the boss' son shows up to close. Out and on my way by 11:15. Tuesday afternoon I stopped in after work for some chips. Here's the interesting part, (yes, there is one.) Shortly after we had closed the store at 11 on Saturday, a group decided to pull a repeat of what happened last April.

What happened last April you ask? I'll tell you.

One night last April maybe around 2 am or so, a group of teenagers, at least I figure they were teens, pried open a door to a hallway running in behind the store. They then proceeded to use sledgehammers to smash there way through the wall to bypass the cameras trained at the front door. They smashed the cameras, then stole all the cigarettes, lottery tickets, DVDs, a bunch of magazines and whatever else.

So basically shortly after I had left Saturday night, the same group pulled an encore presentation of their little stunt. Really not original or that smart, (the first time I could at least credit them for coming up with the idea of smashing through a side wall to avoid the cameras.)

Will they be caught? Probably not.

Would I kick the shit outta them if I caught em? Most definitely.

Spending is better than earning, you ever notice that?

Just bought NWN today. Online, of course. Heaven forbid I leave my house if I don't have to. That might lead to, *shudder* human interaction. Found it at a couple of Canadian online stores. Unfortunatly it was 85 bucks plus tax. Found it at one place on sale. $25 off. Even after tax and shipping it still beat the other prices. The downside was that it was out of stock at the moment and was from Future Shop. The devil's tech store in my opinion. I've never bought anything there ever that hasn't been a hassle. Their staff is rotated weekly through the departments and add on top of that most don't know a damn thing about anything. There online presence isn't much different. I remember Dusty buying a printer or something from them a long while ago. I had warned her, but it was a good price and it took forever to get to her I believe. And here I am.

Falling into the depths of hell to save a couple of bucks.

Lacking in my Duties

Near ten days without a post. Even I was getting sick of looking at this page without an update. Oh who am I kidding? I love the look of my page. Of course I love everything that I do because I'm a conceited ass. But that's a totally different problem. Or the cause of all my problems. Whichever.

The week has sped by, which is good since I get paid tomorrow. And you know I gots ta get paid. I'll kick my own ass later for saying that. A pleasant little surprise is that I'm making $50 more than I expected. Which is nice seeing as my account is so low. It's been years since I've had under $1000 sitting in my account at any given time let alone less than $20. But tuition is out of the way as well as this months RRSP contribution.

I saw Minority Report yesterday. It was pretty good, though they could have ended it a little earlier. I don't know if I was just tired, but I thought the movie was going on for much longer than it did.

Gone with the wind

Tuesday: My Immortal Foe.

Though most of the other days of the week aren't high on my friends list either. Saturday was just an exercise in annoyance and futility. I had a list of what I needed to get done and was able to accomplish none of it. Wasted my time even trying. Monday I stopped off downtown after work. I was going to say "to pick up some stuff," but that just sounds like I was buying crack. Even having "work" and "downtown" in the same sentence is iffy. Anyway, downtown in London is definitely different than you'd expect. It's Canada for God's sake! But we have our share of homeless, street kids, beggars, (which usually means the two previous grouped together,) and the drunks. You'd think the homeless and the street kids et al. would have wisened up and moved on to Toronto. It's a homeless paradise there as I understand. Though being downtown Monday it looked like the city was trying to make the homeless feel as if they were in TO the way the garbage was piling up down there.

Oh yeah, had to give a dollar to a drunk to get him outta my face. Would have said no, but I don't know what this guy would have done if I had. I'd seen the same guy talk trash to four large black guys when they told him he couldn't dump a bag of garbage in a doorway. The guy looked like he'd had the shit beat out of him recently. He made up some shit story about needing a replacement part for his car. Oh well, if it helped him buy a beer and stop breathing in my face it was a dollar well spent I guess. Again, that doesn't sound right.

Got home to find the place empty and a note on the table saying they'd be back at 6:45 and we'd all go out for dinner. They came in seperately, and we didn't go out for dinner. I guess the counselling went well. Yes, the rest of my family is in counselling. All save me. I be the sane one.

Tough being sane in a loony bin.

Can I kill myself now or do I have to schedule the time off first?

I gotta ask this of the Americans reading: Why would you take the Thursday off, but not the Friday? Work was dead Thursday. Sure it was slow, but it was relaxing. Today was just hectic. Everybody called in all at once. Take the four day weekend! Enjoy yourself! Weirdest three day weekend I've ever heard of. Take the Thursday, come in Friday, then off for Saturday and Sunday.

But it's over, it's the weekend and I'm ready to basically crash. Despite the fact I've been getting more sleep these days than I did during school, I'm surprised at the fact that by 9:30 or 10 pm I'm half asleep. It makes no sense. Its not even a "I've been sleeping so much that I feel lazy" situation. It makes me feel like I'm 70 or something.

Tuition will hopefully be dealt with within the next week. Then for the next payday it'll be paying off debt. Then acquiring more debt.Hopefully I can leave enough in my account or else I might as well start worrying about paying off next year's tuition now. Footloose and fancy fee I am not. Which is ok, because if I could say I was, I couldn't blame anybody for kicking my ass.

Where's my applesauce?!

It was Monday. A little too Monday.

Sometimes you strike gold while playing link tourism. Other times you find something that makes you laugh while others scratch their heads and you have to explain it to them.

the end guy is hard

So the weekend was relaxing. Which is nice considering it's been so long since I've had a lzy weekend where I've done nothing at all. But now it's back to work, though at least it goes by quickly. Plus it always helps when it's a pay week.
Friday: Cash.
Saturday: Pay off tuition, (hopefully.)
Sunday: Broke.
Two weeks later: Cash.

So to be exact, I'm not living for the weekend, I'm living for the future pay days.

Just one of those days.
