Yes, I'm going back for a fourth year. I know, you were expecting a monkey to be riding my back. That seems to be what I'm remembered for judging by the notes in my grad book. I guess I'm just trying to branch out.

Back Posting After Being Run Into The Ground.

Well, not exactly, but it was hectic for a while there.

Been doing nothing but projects lately, but it's wrapping up. Got one to hand in today, then a website to finish up for tomorrow. After that, done.

Got back from our second grad show in T.O. It was a lot of fun, though there didn't seem to be as many employers there. Maybe I just can't see them, I don't know. As soon as I get a hold of some of the pictures, I'll post em.

Saw the Punisher yesterday. It was alright, nothing spectacular. Ending sucked. Why do they think that all comic book movies have to have a scene where the hero creates their logo out of fire? (The Crow, Daredevil, Punisher.) I doubt most people aren't going to notice the big ones unless they're in a chopper flying overhead. And in actuality, you'd be out there for hours with a measuring tape, calculator, pencil and paper figuring out the damned layout so it ended up looking the way it's supposed to. Whatever.

I've already started planning what time I need off this summer. A couple of days in May to deal with this wisdom tooth, another for an eye exam, then time in June for a vacation and a weekend off for the Labbatt 24 Hour Relay. Hell, I haven't even found out what's going on in July or August yet, but I'm sure there will be days I need to book off there too.

That's all I have at the moment.

For Standing Around Not Doing Much, I Sure Feel Wiped Out

First of the grad shows is out of the way.

Friday was good. But it involved the two sweetest words in the English language: "open bar." All of the industry people showed up and talked to each other. Had it not been for some being pointed out to us, or just figuring they were business people because we didn't recognize them, we would have thought nobody showed up. They wandered and looked at the displays and grabbed business cards. Oh yeah, business cards, I knew I forgot something. Oh well, I'm going back to class for an extra year anyways.

There was one guy that I swear was there for the free food and drinks. Really scruffy, young guy. Torn jeans, stained shirt and piercings. Came in the door, went right for the food, then right to the bar.

I was looking damn good to. I don't have any pictures, since I didn't bring a camera and it's too early to snag some from others who were there, but imagine Agent Smith from the Matrix. Black suit, same style sunglasses, yes, even the same hairline, (dammit.)

Saturday was slow since it was just friends and family. People packed up early and went home. Now to get the money together to pay for the trip to the T.O. show. The show will suck since we've been given no info on it, such as how much space we have or anything like that. Poor planning on the other group's part, since it was there original plan. Everyone I talk to however is basically going just to party. Hell, it's the only reason I'm going. Money will be tight since I had to cancel my Friday and Saturday shifts this week, (no need to mention I shouldn't have had them anyway since I booked the days off a couple weeks ago,) and I had no other shifts and none given to me. I don't mind, I used the time to get stuff done, but the paycheck is going to suck.

Speaking of sucking, I'm all stuffed up and feel like I'm getting a cold. I feel like hell.

Speaking of hell, I saw Hellboy this evening. (I saw a movie based on a comic book!? No way!)

I'm not going to bother reviewing it, but needless to say, it was damned good. It had great action, great special effects and moments for humour. Definitely worth seeing.
