Well ain't this just shit

I remember a time when I would post often. I remember a time when I'd post occasionally. I even remember a time I just posted. But to continue.

The Xbox 360 is coming out on Tuesday. Working in a retail store, it's getting to the point it's pissing me off. We did preorders two months ago and it took a month to sell them all. We did 25 because we're not stupid. We knew their would be a shortage. It took a month to sell all of the preorders. Needless to say, their wasn't a rush. Now the past couple of weeks as more people are hearing they won't be able to easily get one all I get are calls:
"Can I preorder a 360?"
"No, we've sold all our preorders a month ago. I would recommend lining up early before the store opens on the 22nd to try and get one."
"What if I pay for it all upfront?"
"Again, no. That would be considered a preorder."
"So you're saying I can't get one?"
"Like I said, I'd recommend lining up early. We will have some to sell on a first come first serve basis."
"Well that's just great! If I can't get one, I might as well shoot myself in the head! I might as well hang myself in front of the store right now! If I can't get one I'm dead!" (No, I didn't make that line up. It came from an actual customer.)

I also love the clueless people I get to talk to:
"Where are your Xbox 360s?"
"We don't have any. They'll be in for the 22nd."
"Oh, they're not out yet?"
"No, not yet."
"So I can't buy one now then?"

And I swear to God, If I have one more EMPLOYEE get on my case about getting a 360 I'm going to snap.
"I need a 360!" (While I'm dealing with an actual customer, and whiel the employee should be working.)
"What? Right now? Because I can't help you."
"No, when they come out. I want one set aside for me."
"I can't do that."
"What?! Why not? I work here!"
"We won't have many and it's going to be first come first serve. And how would it look if you're working until 4 or whenever and walk by with a 360 after I've told a bunch of customers we haven't had any for hours?"
"Well I'm not working that day so you can put one aside."
"Again, no. I won't have a bunch of employees walking out with 360s before the store opens. It's going to be a pain in the ass day to begin with without having pissed off customers right off the bat. Line up like a regular customer and get here early."

Can't wait for Tuesday so I can get it over with. And we're better off than most other stores. One of the other stores did 200 preorders! The stores were only supposed to do 25 each. Man, being at that store Tuesday would suck.
